The Alto Adige region can be discovered riding a horse, not only passing through the beautiful valleys and the large plateaus but also through the history of this mountain region. History in this case passes through the “masi”, the typical rural habitations of Trentino Alto Adige. It’s for this reason that the “Gallo Rosso” association has selected five different ‘masi’ for the horses’ lovers. A unique experience that includes guided excursions, riding lessons for children, adventure trips for those more familiar but also the opportunity to take care of loved animals, feeding them in the barn, cuddling, grooming and saddling them.
The Steinerhof maso located in Plan, in the Passiria valley, proposes romantic rides on a sleight pulled by horses during the winter and with a cart during the summer. The Oberfahrerhof maso is situated in an ideal position between two plateaus over 1500 meters high, it offers excursions with a sleight or a carriage and it has a wonderful view on the Dolomites and on the Sarentine Alps, of the Tessa and Ortles alpine group.
In the Kaserhof maso on the Renon it is hosted an horse farm with the tallest arabic thoroughbred in Europe with twenty beautiful specimens to admire, not less interesting is the next door Alpaca and Lama’s farm. Then there is the Flachenhof maso of Collalbo, where the activities aim to the comprehension of horses’ psychology through a work on the ground and listening music.
It’s worth to discover also the Gstatschhof maso of Castelrotto, with the reliability and the sympathy of its ponies.
Traditions means also professionalism. The five farm families who run the ‘masi’ are expert on the horse-farming and one of the member has a certificate of equestrian guide: he will accompany you on the horse rides thorough bushes, meadows and in the traditional alpine mountain retreats. This proposal it is addressed to any age. The kids will have the opportunity to try a unique experience living in close contact with animals.
All the ‘masi’ share the sensibility towards the world of horses but also the gastronomic offer: during your permanence you will have the chance to taste no miles typical products like fruit jam, yogurt, speck, eggs, herbs, bread and syrups.
