Gesso and Stura’s River Park, ten municipalities, over 4,000 hectares of territory, 60 km of river and 90,000 inhabitants in Piedmont, offers a new package of eight cycling routes suitable for different types of cyclists crossing the Park and going well beyond its borders, arriving in France.
To name a few, there is a 36 km long path around Cuneo, to be done in half a day on a mixed route and suitable for everyone, a 143 km long path to be done in two days, on asphalt just for expert cyclists, then a 50 km long path that goes towards Stura Valley, 432 meters of difference in height, medium difficulty and to be done in a day.
This is an initiative that is part of the program "Alcotra 2007-2013 - Ecotourism Project". All paths have technical details, maps, directions, indications and descriptions about history, culture and wildlife’s emergencies. They also show variants to the route and structures or points of interest where to stop for specific activities. All this is accompanied by a final appendix with references for hotels, farm and B&B in the region.
Finally a special tour, "The seven sisters tour", cycle tour that stops in the seven largest cities in the province of Cuneo, with indications of the most important sites to visit.
The proposal is available only on a digital version, directly downloadable from the website. It is possible to consult the proposals and obtain more information at the River House and in the various river park’s Mtb "ParkoBike" rental points.
