New partnership between FunActive and "Bici Alto Adige" Association
PROMOTING THE SLOW MOBILITY IN NORTHERN ITALY

More and more tourists choose to discover Alto Adige with an antique but extremely modern vehicle: the bicycle. Thanks to an extensive network of cycle paths and a long-lasting welcoming tradition, the province of Bolzano has become a classic destination among cyclists, or more generally, among those who seek an active holiday.

In this scenario takes place the new partnership signed between the Association "Bici Alto Adige" and Dobbiaco’s FUNActive, among the first Italian tour operator to believe in cycle tourism and now partner of the Vacanzattiva!’s Network

Bici Alto Adige (Alto Adige Bike) is the association founded by Erwin Stricker (unforgettable skier who once concluded his competitive ski activity dedicated himself to the development of the sport equipment rental, and among them also the bike) that aims to propose tours in Bolzano and surroundings thanks to over 20 rental points, with 5,000 new bikes waiting to be tried.

This agreement has been created in order to make the proposal stronger in the Puster Valley, which will see FUNActive as a rental point at its headquarters in Dobbiaco, crucial point for numerous cycling tours, such as the Drava Cycle Path through Lienz, or going south through Cortina d'Ampezzo.

"We are extremely pleased with this partnership that will bind us more and more to a major initiative such as the one founded by a tourism visionary as it was Erwin Stricker - said Freddy Mair, founder of Funactive Tours - We share with the association the values of a holiday able to enhance our region ".

The strength of the "Bici Alto Adige" Association lies in the extensive network of rental points that in recent years it has managed to build in all the more important valleys around it, in addition to the services offered to visitors, first of all the Bikemobil Card, a combined ticket for the use of public transport and an hired bike valid in the whole province.

"We believe that 'be a team' can always be the trump card in the development of initiatives to promote our province and our valleys", added Linda Stricker one of the six members driving Bici Alto Adige.

THE ACTIVE HOLIDAY ACCORDING TO FUNACTIVE

In addition to developing touristic packages for Italians who want to spend a holiday abroad by bicycle, FUNActive has in its portfolio also proposals dedicated to the neighboring regions. In fact, in addition to its range of trips and holidays in South Tyrol, the Freddy Mair’ structure has developed a network of bike rentals that arrives in Veneto and Friuli Venezia Giulia. In the first region FUNActive has representatives in Belluno, Treviso and Mestre (in this last city ends the Monaco-Venice tour) while in Friuli the network provides rental points in Trieste (where starts the Parenzana’s cycling path) and Aquileia, where there is the Alpe Adria route (from Villach to Grado).

The FUNActive proposals are the result of twenty years of experience in the study of routes ideal for cycling, taking care of every single detail: the first information at the bikes’ delivery, the luggage transport, the accommodation, the documentation for the journey (with relevant and necessary information about the path, as a well-prepared and detailed map), and telephone assistance in case of need. Last but not least, the return transfer after you have completed the last stage.
