Skiing at Easter? On Cortina’s Dolomites

Are you thinking about celebrating Easter with a trip? If yes, have a look of the Dolomiti d’Ampezzo in which in Spring, you can still ski and sunbathing.

Cortina is full of open ski areas, ski slopes and many proposals for those who want to do an active holiday among these peaks that became “UNESCO World Heritage Site”. Here is possible to practice several kind of activities such as: alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, go sledding at night-time, drive on the snow, via ferrata, snowboard and snowkite, but also doing a break in mountain huts of Cortina, sunbathing, admire the wonderful landscapes and enjoy the traditional dishes. 

Every kind of slow holiday, like choose to stay in a ‘malga’ (mountain farm) and do some walk with snowshoes or ski mountaineering inside the Dolomiti d’Ampezzo National Park. Here, kids and adults can also have the opportunity to do some excursions with snowshoes in amazing places surrounded by the uncontaminated nature.

Alternatively, go sledding at night-time, after a tasty dinner in a mountain hut or drive on the snow at the Snowice, or climbing on a wintry via ferratas. The snowkite, on the Giau Pass, is perfect for those who really want to “fly” on the snow with kite and skis (or snowboard) on foot.

Also all expert freeriders can venture on fresh snow (but always remember to check the avalanche bulletin, the weather and rely on a professional guide before to go).  

At the end of the season, Cortina proposes the “Gran Finale Dolomiti Superski” holiday package, which has been created to celebrate the 40 years of the great activity of this huge ski area that boasts of its 1.200 kilometers ski slopes, 450 ski lifts, 23 kilometers of paths for the night ski, 25 snowparks and 4600 snow cannons.  

From the 4th to the 12th of April, the tourist package has a discount of 40 euro for those who buy a skipass for at least four days, with stay proposals that start from 400 euro.
