The perfect ski holiday in Alto Adige
Active and white holidays in Eisack Valley

Snow, ski slopes and walks along ancient villages, the original tastes of the local cooking and fun occasions for all family.

The Eisack Valley, in Alto Adige, has more than 143 kilometers of ski slopes divided in five different ski areas, which are really close to the artistic treasures of Brixen, Klausen and Sterzing.

Here skiers can choose among the mountains of: Plose, Maranza-Valles, Racines-Giovo, Monte Cavallo and Ladurns.

Among all news, in Maranza-Valles there is the new ski run of Schwandt, the Bergrestaurant Jochtal has been restructured (www.jochtal.info) and the Steindl‘s Boutique Hotel - three stars, very close to the Monte Cavallo cable car and with a typical alpine style - has been opened (www.steindl.it). For those who are looking for atmospheres from the past, there is the Huberhof farm, which is special because it’s historical (www.huberhof-natz.com) or the Kirchwieserhof farm, the only one dedicated to the sport with well equipped structures, excursions, guided skitours and bike rental.

The list of all structures that belong to the "Consorzio Turistico Valle Isarco" is available on the website of the association, with all proposals.

And if you are still looking for a suggestive and well organized holiday but at a good price, there are several small ski areas for the fun of the skier and all the family.

Still in Maranza-Valles, the “Sci & Malghe” Rio Pusteria holiday area proposes, at reasonable prices, 44 kilometers of ski slopes and lively weekly programs with high level services and thousands opportunities to never get bored.

From Monday to Saturday there are romantic walks with torches in the alpine valley of Altafossa, excursions by horse sled, nights at the pub or discotheque at high altitude (“Ballo dei Vampiri”), fonduta-cheese parties at the Grossberghütte mountain hut, evenings with the Tyrolean cuisine, Ski mountaineering, tours on snowshoes or descents with the sled.

About prices, in Valles the “Family weeks” starts from 553 euro per person, with half-board in a three-stars hotel in the period between the 10th and the 31st of January (children under 5 years old stay for free, children up to 13 years old pay 220 €).

There is also the “Tutto incluso Long Stay” made for adults who want to go back skiing and for beginners: it starts from 609 euro per person, with half-board in a three-stars hotel (from the first of February to the 14th of March), complete equipment, skipass and ski school.

Indeed, for children, Maranza-Valles offers two certificated ski schools and three playgrounds. The ski slopes of Valles are perfect for families because they are long and easy. For experts there is the Gitschberg ski slope: here the snow is always perfect because of its height – 2.500 meters – and it is one of the most spectacular slope of the Dolomites.

From the Gitschberg you can enjoy the most beautiful view, with 500 distinguishable peaks at 360 degrees from the viewing platform on top of the mountain (it is called Gitsch from citizens, that means girl). In the paths of Altfasstal you can do amazing  walks with snowshoes or boots.

There is also the snowboard park, the snowkiting area in Valles, the cross-country skiing in the natural paradise of the Alpe di Rodengo, excursions on walk during the winter, ice climbing on the waterfalls of the Val di Fundres. And at the end, there are toboggans who often pass close to hotels like the one in Malga Fane. For kids, but also for adults who still want to play!
