Ravenna Marathon 2017

It's a very special three-day marathon the one about to live in the most important historical city in Romagna, ready to host its XIX edition, with a program full of events for everyone, without exception.

Starting from Friday 10th, to Sunday 12th November, the city will experience an all-around event, that combines sport, culture, art and promotes tourism. The most awaited day is definitely Sunday, when the race itself will start from via Roma: this year scheduled for various distances: there is the classic Marathon (42 km), Half Marathon (21 km), the Almaverde Bio Good Morning Ravenna (a ludic event of 10.5 km) and the Conad Family Run (2 km) that will be held on Saturday inside the Public Gardens.

Needless to say, the classic track is incredibly evocative: it developes throughout the historical center, making it to the nearby Classe and then to the sea, in Punta Marina Terme, to return to the city while arriving facing the sea. The whole thing in a maximum time of six hours, starting at 9.30 a.m.

Along the path, you will run through the city's historical and artistic beauties, UNESCO monuments, golden mosaics and ancient Paleo Christian and Byzantine Churches. An event that over time has entered deeper and deeper in the heart of the inhabitants of Ravenna, and which, this year, drew more than 7000 fans from 42 countries worldwide.

The 2017 news is various: from a raffled off cruise - offered by Global Ports - for the first arriving at the intermediate finish line of the route (4.2), to the new Expo Village just a few meters from the last finish line. Then, there is the AVIS Trophy dedicated to the blood donors; and the unique “6 legs” run Dogs & Run, for those who wish to run together with their dog (on Saturday 11th, near the Public Gardens).

An event full of colourful and original attractions, but with a common denominator: the medal, a souvenir for the participants, made in mosaic, the art that makes Ravenna famous in the world.
