One year of trekking, camping in nature, snow-shoes walks, hiking, cycling, horse riding, river sailing and summer camps in the whole territory of Emilia-Romagna.

Itinerando” has just begun. It is a program with 93 events, that will be active until the 6th of March 2016. The initiative was promoted by the Apt of Emilia-Romagna - in cooperation with the Region, “Unione Appennino Verde” (Green Apennines Union) and Promappennino - and it points to a new discovery of Emilia-Romagna lands, through a “slow” and “reflexive” tourism, focused on the link between man and nature. A calendar that includes half-day or overnight trips, for every kind of hiker, from the expert to the beginner, to families.

“Itinerando” will pass through the most interesting areas of the Apennines, like the “Primavera sulla Pietra di Bismantova” (Spring on Bismantova’s Stone), on the Reggio Emilia side of the Park of Tuscany-Emilia Apennines: a ring track that leads to the top of the Stone to look for the first blooms.

Those who are not afraid of darkness and ghosts, will be able to take part to an evocative night journey in Traversetolo, in Parma’s area,  on the wonderful panoramic slope that separates Val d’Enza from Val Termina, in Matilde di Canossa’s lands. The tour leads to the ruins of Guardasone castle, where they say that the ghost of Ottobono Terzi is still wandering around in his armor…

Finally, there is room for history, for memory, like the appointment of the 25th of AprilMonte Battaglia e Cà di Budrio”, in Santerno Valley  and Imola’s hills: a trekking in the symbolic places of the Partisans’ Resistance, where thousands of men left their lives to defend the ideal and the homeland.

Obviously there are also itineraries in Romagna. It will be possible to explore the paths of Casino Mount and Sasso Vetroso, in the ‘Parco della Vena del Gesso Romagnola’, in Ravenna: the program includes a night journey to watch the stars. Falling stars lovers must not miss the appointment in Guiglia, on the 10th of August, called “Waiting for Saint Lawrence” (we recommend to bring a backpack and a light).

Those who love a more challenging trekking will be able to test themselves in the wonderful ring trip starting from Collagna (Reggio Emilia), to discover the wonderful ice basin of Calamone Lake and finally go sweetly up - through and ancient wood - to the green meadows of Monte Ventasso, high isolated mount set between the valleys of Secchia and Enza rivers. It is a landscape pearl of the ‘Parco Nazionale dell’Appennino Tosco-Emiliano’.

Saturday 11th of July is dedicated to mountain bike, with “La Runeda” of Zocca. This trip starts from Monte San Giacomo to finally enter this corner of the Apennines, along the paths inside the ‘Parco Regionale dei Sassi di Roccamalatina’, without the pressure of competition, where the watchword is freedom. Along the paths (4/12/25 km) there are typical restaurants.

The planned appointments are many, but an important date will be the 2nd of June, when the “Green Day of Emilia Romagna” will be celebrated.
